Q.1. Web communication tools open broad new opportunities for interaction among students across the globe. Of the communication tools you have learned about, which do you think holds the most promise? What are its strengths and weaknesses? How might you use this types of tool in your classroom to develop and promote 21st century learning skills?
A.1. Of the communication tools I have used and read about in Chapter 9, I feel web-based multimedia, particularly audio, might be the most useful for classrooms. Its strengths include being engaging, interesting, and easy to use and create. The weaknesses of audio multimedia would be that it is not interactive, and it becomes dated quite easily. I think creating audio lectures and uploading them to my course webpage would be useful for students. It would be especially useful for those students who need excessive repetition and those students who might miss class.
This week I created a course website. It was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be. It was also fun to create graphics and see my previous projects put to use. I think I would be useful to use the tools I have practiced with this week as a template for future course web sites.
